The freight train run by Vietnam Railway was carrying sulfur, aluminum and milk produced at factories in Hai Duong, Hai Phong, and Hung Yen provinces.

After arriving at Yen Vien railway station on the outskirts of Hanoi, the train was connected to international intermodal trains to transport the commodities to China.

Cao Xa station is being upgraded into an international intermodal station, which meets regulations on duty-free business conditions, warehouses, customs clearance and inspection

At the station, there will be two international intermodal routes, with the first running from Cao Xa to Pingxiang of China’s Guangxi province, and the second from Cao Xa to Hekou of China’s Yunan province.

In China, Vietnamese commodities will be transported further inland for local consumption or transit to Central Asian countries, Russia, and the European Union.
